Since when does Engel & Völkers offer franchise partnerships?

Engel & Völkers was founded in 1977 as a real estate brokerage in the city of Hamburg. The company introduced the first Franchise Shop in 1997. Today, more than 900 shops have been opened in more than 30 countries and 5 continents, making Engel & Völkers one of the leading real estate companies in the world. 

How will my license area be defined? Is the license area exclusive?

Our license areas are defined based on market and demographic conditions, geographical features, as well as revenue potential. Once defined, our license partner will have exclusive rights in the area.

Which territories are currently available?

Does your Franchise System require previous real estate experience?

No, our franchise system does not require  specific real estate experience. Instead we look for people with an entrepreneurial mindset, management experience and people skills. We will provide you with all the tools and trainings necessary to succeed in the real estate market in our training Academy 

How much do I need to invest to become a franchise partner?

The investment capital varies strongly according to the region and country, as well as the size and the complexity of the fitting of the shop. The main costs are the following:

• Initial Franchising Fee: € 32,500 (trademark and exclusive rights in the licensed area)
• Shop Planning and Training Fees: € 10,000

• Shop fitting: highly variable depending on the location and characteristics of the shop

• Start-up Capital

What is the length of term of my franchise agreement and what royalties are paid??

The term of our franchise agreement is 10 years. The ongoing royalties are 12.5 % of net turnover and includes following services: Support in Public Relations, Relationship Management, Staff Recruiting, Controlling, Advertising, Marketing, among others.

Will you help me find the right shop and when can I open it?

After signing your agreement, you will have 3 to 6 months to open your Shop. In this time you will need to complete our basic training at our academy. Our experienced support team will assist you during the search for a suitable location.
