Engel & Völkers lists former home of „Marlboro Man” Robert Norris for 8 million US dollars

Engel & Völkers is currently brokering the former residence of advertising icon Robert Norris, famous for being the original „Marlboro Man”, in the US state of Colorado for 8 million US dollars (approx. 6.9 million euros). „Robert Norris built the property for his family back in 1961, nestled among the golden pines and overlooking Pikes Peak Mountain. It is an elegant residence and an idyllic retreat in nature with plenty of sporting and recreational pursuits to offer,” says Amie Streater of Engel & Völkers Colorado Springs.

Luxury ranch boasts a private indoor ice hockey rink and saltwater pool

A tree-lined driveway leads through the 15-acre ranch, which is located just minutes from Colorado Springs and an approx. 40-minute drive from the state capital Denver on the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains. The façade features round columns, ochre-coloured walls and embossed stone masonry. Inside, some 14,500 square feet (1,400 square metres) of living space awaits, including eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a walk-in wardrobe, and a spacious kitchen and living area. The generously sized rooms are finished with coffered wooden ceilings, stucco ornamentation, lavish marble features, and floor-to-ceiling arched windows. The master suite and guest suites open out to a private courtyard complete with a fountain feature and outdoor fireplace. Each of the rooms also has access to the property’s outstanding entertainment area: a loggia leads to a home cinema, as well as to an indoor ice hockey rink spanning some 6,800 square feet (approx. 630 square metres), which can be used all year round. At the rear of the property is the expansive garden terrace, which affords panoramic views across the property lawns to the pine forests and Colorado’s mountain backdrop beyond. From here, residents have easy access to the saltwater pool, as well as the tennis and pickleball courts. „The current owners carried out extensive modernisation work and introduced luxurious finishes in 2008, without losing any of the authentic original charm. The property offers the very utmost level of privacy and superb entertainment amenities, all while retaining the serenity and comfort of a ranch,” says Amie Streater.

About Robert Norris

Robert Norris was born in Chicago in 1929 and rose to international fame in the early 1960s with his role as the „Marlboro Man”. The fictional advertising character of the cigarette brand of the same name was displayed around the world between 1954 and 1999, and is still one of the most famous advertising campaigns ever. Norris impersonated the smoking cowboy in numerous TV commercials over a 12-year period, as well as starring on advertising posters and going on to become an icon of the big screen. Norris was also a cowboy in real life, but he was a non-smoker for his entire life. He passed away in 2019 at the age of 90 on his ranch in his adopted home of Colorado Springs.
